The Secret behind Vitamin A, Eczema, and Fish

Eczema is really not even just one condition. It is a whole host of skin problems, all of which lead to irritated skin. In many cases, eczema is hereditary. The condition is pretty common with possibly every 3 out of 100 people in the United States having the problem. These unlucky people must use their eczema medication that their doctor had prescribed for them. Many times these medications have a form of vitamin A and eczema does not like vitamin A.

These health benefits of such medicines extend beyond just vitamin A and eczema. Vitamin A offers so many other possible benefits, which include its ability to fight against heart disease and other cardiovascular problems, against cancer, and against many other chronic diseases that challenge your health on a regular basis. These are all just some of the benefits of vitamin A and eczema prevention is thus just one of them.

The connection between vitamin A and eczema is an important one, though. The basis for the relationship between the two, between vitamin A and eczema, may stem from the nutrient's ability to boost and develop of your immune system. Dietary and supplemental sources of vitamin A appear to help your body produce antibodies and lymphocytes. These cells are essential warriors in a healthy immune system. In one recent scientific study, for example, the researchers investigated a diet without vitamin A to a diet loaded in vitamin A, beta-carotene, and lycopene, on the immune system in mice, and of course, the high vitamin A diet won out.

If you are taking fish oils and vitamin A, however, you may want to take more vitamin A to compensate. Fish oils are made up of fat. And as you may have heard, vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin. That means that fish oils and vitamin A are very attracted to each other. In fact, the fish oils and vitamin A join together to the point that you may actually be depleted of vitamin A if you don't take a supplement in proper proportions of the two chemicals.

Any top-notch supplements, however, will have the right combination of fish oils and vitamin A so that you can enjoy the many benefits of both. Vitamin A is not the only member of that pair that has benefits. When it comes to fish oils and vitamin A, the fish oils hold their own. Primarily, their benefits come from the fatty acids called omega-3. Experts have suggested for years that omega-3s can help with dementia, depression, Alzheimer's, skin problems, heart disease, and many other conditions.
